Comments

When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form, plus the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized hash of your email may be sent to the Gravatar service to check for a profile image. Gravatar’s privacy policy: https://automattic.com/privacy/.
After approval, your comment and profile picture become publicly visible in context.

Media

If you upload images, avoid files containing embedded location data (EXIF GPS).
Visitors can download and extract location data from images on the site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may opt to save your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These last one year.

If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we set cookies to save your login info and display preferences:

  • Login cookies last 2 days.

  • “Remember Me” keeps login for 2 weeks.

  • Screen-option cookies last 1 year.
If you log out, login cookies are removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie (no personal data) stores the post ID of the edited article; it expires after one day.

Campaign attribution (outreach emails): When you arrive from an A Vision of Hope outreach link, we may set a first-party cookie named aoh_campaign for up to 90 days to remember which campaign brought you to the site. This helps us measure which programs lead to curriculum inquiries, speaking requests, or book interest. It is not used for cross-site advertising, is not shared with third-party ad networks, and applies only within the browser you used to click the link.

Microsoft Clarity: We use Microsoft Clarity, which may set first- and third-party cookies and similar tracking technologies to capture how you use and interact with our website. See Microsoft Clarity below for details.

RB2B / Instantly visitor identification: We use RB2B and Instantly Website Visitors (Leadsy), which may set cookies and similar technologies for company-level (and, where available, person-level) website visitor identification. See RB2B and Instantly Website Visitors (Leadsy) below for details and opt-out links.

Microsoft Clarity

We partner with Microsoft Clarity to capture how you use and interact with our website through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay. We use this information to improve our products and services, optimize the site, and support fraud and security monitoring.

Website usage data is captured using first- and third-party cookies and other tracking technologies to understand which pages and features are used and how visitors move through the site. By using our site, you agree that we and Microsoft may collect and use this data as described here and in Microsoft’s own policies.

For more information about how Microsoft collects and uses your data, visit the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

RB2B

We use RB2B to help identify organizations (and, on paid plans where available, U.S. business contacts) that visit our website. This supports outreach about books, speaking, and the ReturnPath curriculum. On the free plan, company-level identification is U.S.-focused unless international tracking is separately enabled with a consent management tool. Person-level identification, when enabled on a paid plan, is limited to U.S.-based visitors under RB2B’s product rules. The company-level script is loaded on our live site so the provider can verify installation and identify U.S. business visitors.

When you visit or log in to our website, cookies and similar technologies may be used by our online data partners or vendors to associate these activities with other personal information they or others have about you, including by association with your email. We (or service providers on our behalf) may then send communications and marketing to these email addresses. You may opt out of receiving this advertising by visiting https://app.retention.com/optout.

For RB2B’s own practices, see RB2B’s compliance materials. You can opt out of RB2B / partner association via https://app.retention.com/optout.

Instantly Website Visitors (Leadsy)

We use Instantly.ai Website Visitors (Leadsy pixel) to identify U.S. business visitors when Instantly can resolve a profile. This is separate from RB2B.

When you visit or log into our website, we use cookies and similar technologies to collect certain information about your visit. This includes (i) Usage Data (Information about how you use our site, such as pages visited, time spent on pages, and links clicked.) (ii) Device Information (Details about the device you use to access our site, including IP address, browser type, and operating system.) and (iii) Personal Data (If you provide it, we may collect information such as your email address, phone number, or other contact details). We may also combine this information collected automatically with other data we receive from third-party sources, such as data providers and marketing partners, to create a more complete profile of you. We then use this profile to communicate with you, including providing personalized advertising and promotional content based on your interests and browsing behavior. You may opt out of this at any time by contacting us at contact@avisionofhopebook.com, using the unsubscribe link in our emails, or changing Marketing / visitor ID preferences under Your Privacy Choices.

Your Privacy Choices

We show a cookie and privacy choices bar on first visit. It is a notice with an opt-out, not a blocking wall.

You can:

  • Accept all — keep Analytics and Marketing / visitor ID tools on.

  • Reject non-essential — turn off Analytics and Marketing / visitor ID tools.

  • Manage choices — toggle categories separately, then save.

Categories:

  • Analytics — Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, Ahrefs Web Analytics, Cloudflare Web Analytics, and Vercel Analytics / Speed Insights.

  • Marketing / visitor ID — Instantly Website Visitors (Leadsy). RB2B company-level identification loads with the site on production (see RB2B above) and is not toggled by this Marketing control; use the retention.com opt-out for RB2B/partner association.

Always allowed (not toggled in the bar): first-party campaign attribution (aoh_campaign cookie for outreach links), Cloudflare Turnstile on forms, and other tools required to run the site securely.

Global Privacy Control (GPC): If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat Marketing / visitor ID as off until you turn it back on in Privacy choices.

Change your mind later: use Privacy choices in the site footer (or reopen this section’s control on any page). Preferences are stored in your browser (localStorage) for this site only.

Limitation: Marketing / visitor ID scripts may already have run on an earlier pageview before you opted out. Opting out stops new loads on later visits; it does not erase beacons already sent. Analytics scripts load only after your first click, scroll, or keypress, so rejecting them before that interaction prevents them for that session.

Open Privacy choices on this device: use the Privacy choices link in the footer.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles may include embedded videos, images, or other content.
Embedded content behaves exactly as if you visited the external site directly.
Those sites may collect data, use cookies, embed tracking, and monitor your interaction if you are logged in there.

Hope Assistant and AI Interactions

The site includes an interactive AI assistant (“Hope Assistant” or “Vision Guide”) that helps visitors explore the three-book ecosystem, request materials, or book media interviews.

By using it, you agree that:

  • Conversations may be stored for up to 12 months for quality, debugging, and improvement.

  • Your messages may be processed to determine what information or materials to send.

  • The assistant provides general guidance only—not medical, psychological, or legal advice.

  • You should avoid submitting sensitive personal data (health, financial, or password information).

Third-Party Processors & Integrations

To operate the site and Hope Assistant, we use secure third-party services, including:

  • Leadsy (Instantly Website Visitors) – US B2B visitor identification when available (company / business contact resolution; not used for cross-site advertising)

  • RB2B – company-level website visitor identification (free tier); person-level ID only if a paid plan is enabled and only for U.S. visitors (see RB2B above)

  • Resend – contact form and newsletter delivery

  • Calendly / TidyCal – scheduling interviews or calls

These services process limited data solely to complete your requested action under their own privacy policies and security standards.

If you have an account or left comments, you may request an export of your personal data or ask us to delete it (except data kept for legal or security purposes).
Requests: contact@avisionofhopebook.com

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails via the link in any message.

You can change Analytics and Marketing / visitor ID cookie preferences anytime via Privacy choices in the site footer (see Your Privacy Choices).

Changes become effective when posted with a new “Last updated” date.
Material changes will be highlighted for at least 30 days.
